In 2003 Symbion Project released the downtempo album Immortal Game featuring the standout track "Soft Tempest" :: I've always wanted to do a proper vinyl version of this album, so the 10th anniversary of its release seemed like the right way to celebrate!
This updated version of Immortal Game will only be available to those who purchase the vinyl and will be limited to 250 copies total. With this option, you will receive 1 autographed, hand-numbered copy of the limited edition double-vinyl 10th anniversary release of Immortal Game. The 2, 180gram audiophile quality records feature all the songs from the original album plus 2 bonus tracks. Purchasing also gets you a copy of the original CD version!
You will also receive a digital download of the entire album as well in the various formats that bandcamp supports.
Includes bonus downloads! You also get four 16bit 44.1KHz wav files recorded directly from a virgin test pressing of the album. This is perfect for those of you that don't have turntables but still want the sound of the vinyl release. There will be no breaks between songs and will include the needle drop at the start and pickup at the end of each side.
This re-issue contains 2 never-before-heard bonus tracks:
1. Soft Tempest [dither pattern mix] - I've wanted to do an updated version of this song for years, so this is the result of that desire. Fortunately i met Gus Sebring who plays french horn in the Boston Symphony Orchestra & boston pops and he graciously composed and arranged some really nice horn parts to compliment this updated mix!
2. Lives of Quiet Desperation - I stumbled across a rough demo of this recently. This was at some point going to be a Splashdown song so its inception would have been in the same timeframe as when i was composing songs for Immortal Game. I sent Adam Buhler the track and he was psyched to update it with lots of new guitar while I amped up the drums and synths. But it still felt incomplete so Adam enticed noted jazz violinist Russell Farhang to add the missing components and make this lovely piece of melancholy.
Clifford Stoltze, of Stoltze Design, who designed and produced the original artwork created all new art for this release inspired by the original designs! Stoltze Design also created the fantastic art for the Misery in Soliloquy album.
I apologize for the high cost of shipping but mailing costs have gotten really bad. I want to make sure the vinyl reaches you safely, so for US shipments I'm using priority mail. I investigated something cheaper but between vinyl mailers + cardboard reinforcers + shipping + insurance, it wasn't much cheaper then priority mail (which uses a sturdy box, fast delivery, and insurance). If you order any of my cd's in the same order i'll refund your shipping money from those as I can include them in the package with the vinyl at no extra cost. thanks for understanding. For the rest of the world, if the shipping comes out to less than you paid, i'll refund the difference.
Thanks for your support over the years for all of my music and DIY releases. spread the word to your friends about this limited edition release!
